About Park City, Utah

christmas in park city utah

Located just a short drive from Salt Lake City, Park City is home to world-class ski resorts, charming downtown streets lined with boutiques and art galleries, and breathtaking views of the mountains. The biggest draw to Park City during the holiday season is the opportunity to hit the slopes at Park City Mountain Village. With over 7,300 acres of terrain, skiers and snowboarders enjoy the fresh powder during the wintertime.

If you are not crazy about winter sports, no worries because there is still plenty to enjoy. The holidays is a great time to experience the festive magic such as holiday markets, parades, and sightseeing activities. Additionally, you can take part in dog sledding, snow tubing, snowmobiling, and other winter activities that do not involve snowboarding, or skiing.

Other than that, if you prefer to relax, there are plenty of top-rated wellness spas to choose from.

About Our Stay: Residences at Blackstone

christmas in park city, utah - airbnb

We stayed in a cute 2 bedroom and 2.5 bath condo located at the Residences at Blackstone. It was the perfect size for four people – 1,325 square feet to be exact. The panoramic views of the snowy landscape and mountains added to the luxurious escape.

I loved the open concept layout. The common areas were perfect places to gather as they felt spacious and airy. We loved the natural light this cozy place had to offer!

Each room was equipped with its own electric chimney, which was the cherry on top for me. Also, the wrap-around balcony was a nice feature of the condo. We enjoyed the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Overall, I loved how well-put-together the place was. It was aesthetically pleasing with modern décor and thoughtful touches that made it seem like a home. The only complaint was that coffee filters were nowhere to be found in the kitchen.

(I am sorry, but if you are going to have a coffee machine for your guests, I think you should have coffee filters available. Coffee filters were not on my mind during our grocery run.)

One last note – the drive to Park City Mountain Village and downtown was less than 10 minutes. Super convenient! We also had a local 7-Eleven about three minutes away, which was super nice for any last minute items like coffee filters. 😉

If you are interested in booking the condo we stayed at, it is listed here.

Park City, Utah Activities

Woodward Park City

If you’re spending Christmas in Park City, Utah, you are probably wondering about winter activities – no worries, I’ve got you covered!

If you are interested in learning how to ski or snowboard, I highly recommend checking out Woodward Park City . It feels way less intimidating than a full-on ski resort, which makes it a great place to learn. They offer lessons for both skiing and snowboarding, plus tons of other activities – including an indoor tumbling zone that’s perfect for families with kids of all ages.

We tried their snow tubing and it was so much fun (speaking on behalf of four grown adults here, haha!).

North Forty Escapes

If you are up for an adventure, book a snowmobiling experience with North Forty Escapes. We went through them and they were awesome to work with! We had SO much fun – it ended up being a surreal winter wonderland experience.

(The first time we went snowmobiling was actually in the spring, so the scenery this time around was incredibly different!)

Other Winter Activities

Looking for more things to do in Park City during the winter? Here are a few other activities worth adding to your itinerary:

Snowshoeing

The surrounding mountains offer a variety of snowshoeing trails, making it a peaceful and unique way to explore the winter landscape. I think snowshoeing is a calmer experience if you’re looking for something that doesn’t involve learning a new winter sport. I’ll link North Forty Escapes website here.

Ice Skating

Park City has both indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, offering a fun and festive activity for the whole family. It’s such a classic winter experience! For more information, I’ll link a resource here.

Dog Sledding

If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, consider dog sledding! North Forty Escapes offers a dog sled and snowmobile combo tour – I’ll link more details about it here. It’s a great way to see the snow-covered landscape in a totally unforgettable way.

Park City, Utah Restaurants

You already know I sought the best places to dine! Please learn from our mistake and book dining reservations in advance. Below are some popular must-try spots we visited (or wish we had):

  • KITA – A semi-new Japanese restaurant. Would love to go back just to try the sushi!
  • Prime Steak House & Piano Bar – Loved the live piano music and ambiance. The crab cake was delicious!
  • Dos Olas – Go with the chicken enchiladas, promise you’ll love. Also, their cocktails were pretty delicious too!
  • Fletcher’s – This wasn’t my favorite, but my sister really enjoyed it. I’d give it another shot.
  • The Bridge Cafe and Grill – HIGHLY recommend. I was skeptical at first, but boy, was I wrong. So delicious!
  • Versante Hearth + Bar – We ordered takeout on Christmas Day and it was the best decision ever. Loved their wood-fired pizza and spicy chorizo rigatoni pasta.
  • Riverhorse on Main – Located in the heart of downtown Park City, this upscale restaurant is known for serving eclectic American fare & fine wines in an elegant space with live music.
  • Fireside Dining – Cozy, fixed-price dining with four courses of Swiss fare served from five stone fireplaces – plus a bar. Such a unique experience!

If you hit the slopes at Park City Mountain Village, please go to Legends Bar and Grill for the best burger in Park City.

Also, if you’re in the mood for cocktails with the most impressive view, visit Montage Deer Valley resort. The Montage is one of the finest resorts in the Park City area, and I think you’ll love this lux experience.
