Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him

Ladies, I’ve been looking forward to sharing this post because I’ve slowly compiled this list of gift ideas since last year! And I can finally share it, yay!!!

Valentine’s Day is 19 days away, and if you like to plan ahead, you are probably shooting to buy his gift no later than Sunday, Feb. 10th. I don’t know about your guy but I find it just a little bit challenging shopping for mine. He is the type of person who beats me to it. For example, for our wedding, I knew exactly what I wanted to surprise him with on the day of. I was yelling on the inside when he asked me to go to the mall with him to buy the watch he had his eyes on for MONTHS!!!! Ahhhh, it still gets me, LOL!!! Like why, why did you have to buy your own wedding gift, Jose? I ended up expressing my love for him on a piece of paper (something he cannot find at a store); I believe my love letter ended up having much more significance than anything I could have ever purchased.  Continue reading “Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him”

Color Block Top + Legging Pants

Color Block Top + Legging Pants

This past Sunday Jose asked me, “I thought you were wearing a pink shirt.” And I told him, “There is pink on my shirt.” My coat was covering up my top so he could only catch a glimpse of my left sleeve. I pulled down the right sleeve and showed him the pink side. I am not too sure if he was teasing me or not (always hard to tell), but hey, we have different taste in fashion.  Continue reading “Color Block Top + Legging Pants”

Michael Kors Faux-Fur-Trim Puffer Coat

Michael Kors Faux-Fur-Trim Puffer Coat

Here to share something that will not be going out of style in the near future, puffer coats. I live in Houston…we really don’t need puffer coats. As a matter of fact, I had to eventually get rid of all the coats I owned during my college years. I went to college about 30 minutes south of Oklahoma so I definitely experienced snow, ice, and the like. I guess a warm jacket is enough for Houston during the winter. But a puffer coat? It may be a little too much. Continue reading “Michael Kors Faux-Fur-Trim Puffer Coat”

Happy New Year – 2019!

Happy New Year – 2019!

Happy, Happy New Year! And just like that, it is the beginning of a brand new year! Houston Rodeo is practically tomorrow…well no, not really, but the lineup is released tomorrow!!! And for some reason, I cannot wait! I convinced (or did I?) Jose to take me this year. Here is to hoping Drake is performing.

I think this is the seventh year I write my goals in my planner to help me remember of the promises I made to myself. I highly recommend you do the same. There is something powerful about writing your goals on paper. Yes, I believe there is a lot more that goes into actually reaching your goals, but I think this is a good first step. Christmas family pajama day

Christmas family pajama day

It was a Christmas family pajama day in the #sojohousehold this past weekend – that was until we had to step out of our apartment. It will not be the last time we rock our matching pjs this year though. I am checking our suitcases twice before taking off to New York City (NYC) to ensure we bring them. I’ve only DREAMT of spending Christmas in the Big Apple!!! My heart is skipping a few beats from the excitement as I am sharing this with you!

Chic Weekend Vibes

Chic Weekend Vibes

Happy Sunday, beautiful!!! I hope your weekend was nothing but fabulous! I am currently sitting at a Starbucks wrapping up this post that I’ve been longing to share. If you love the idea of sporting a good chic outfit on the weekend, I think you’ll love tonight’s look.

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I shared a few favorite #blackfriday sales. I want to believe we scored on a few things, and yes, that actually means I’ve been online stalking a few purchases. So far, so good! It was during this adventure that I found key items I was looking for. We have an upcoming trip to NYC this month so I definitely needed jeans with no holes. And bingo. I found the perfect pair.

Plaid Jumpsuit & Basic Turtleneck

Plaid Jumpsuit & Basic Turtleneck

The holidays are around the corner and everyone knows it! And if you think it’s little cray to begin playing Christmas music then you can skedaddle on outta here. I’ve been playing it since the first of November, and nope, no shame in my playlist game. I recently read a meme that went something along these lines, “It’s almost the time of year to get all dressed up just to sit around in the living room,” and I couldn’t help but to laugh out loud because I am definitely guilty of this! But who cares what anyone else thinks or says, right? Dressing up comes with the holiday territory.

It’s Down Syndrome Awareness Month

It’s Down Syndrome Awareness Month

Oh heyyyyy there! Happy, happy October! I think this is a favorite month for a lot of people because it’s when the temperatures finally drop (at least in TX) and it’s pumpkin spice everything! And I ain’t mad ’bout it.

This month is well-known for a few causes, including, but not limited to: Breast Cancer, Domestic Violence, Down Syndrome, and Depression Education. And while all of these are important causes, there is one that hits close to home – Down Syndrome. It is an honor to share her story on the blog today. Her name is Sonia and we met through my little sister many years ago. Since they have been best friends since middle school, it was easy to see her as my little sister too! She is beautiful inside and out, focused, intelligent, a go-getter, strong, and independent. Her story is more than captivating; it is inspiring, motivating, and courageous.
