Life Update: Love Month and Health

Mrs Profresh

Happy, happy Monday! Cheers to another week ahead. I am excited to kick off yet another week. I have some pretty motivating stuff coming to the blog this week. Having a few conversations with some of you lately has inspired me to come up with a few blog posts revolving around those conversations. But first, a life update.

Our love month:

Well, today is July 13th. Today, three years ago, Jose and I tied the knot in the U.S., exactly one week before our religious ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S. Sweet, sweet, precious memories. Oh, the things I’d do to travel anywhere right now to celebrate. And even though I consider our wedding anniversary on July 20th, he still promised to grill steaks on the rooftop tonight so here’s to hoping for another stunning sunset view. (If you are located in Houston, last night’s sunset was INSANE. Gorgeous.)

Today is also our engagement anniversary date, four years ago he proposed during a family vacation while having a beautiful dinner on the beach at Playa Tulemar in Costa Rica. It remains as one of my favorite places in the world for many reasons. Our entire trip after the proposal was unforgettable. I’ll never forget those beautiful memories. It is safe to say I am all in my feels right now. I feel so happy, so blessed, so grateful to be married to the man of my prayers. I love him more than words could ever describe. Jose, if you’re reading this, I love you so f-ing much. I know I tell you this all the time but I don’t think you get it. I don’t ever want to experience life without you. You are my best friend, my everything. Here’s to a lifetime of memories, belly laughs, happy tears, amazing health, and making our wildest dreams come true.

For those who don’t know how July became to be known as “love month” on the blog, this is how. It’s because of all the special and loving memories that happened in July for me. It’s the month I reconnected with Jose many years ago, it’s the month of our first kiss, it’s when we got engaged, and of course, the month we tied the knot. July holds a special place in my heart.

Aside from celebrating our wedding anniversary this month, I have to say, I have been feeling a bit of anxiety lately. I think it’s mainly due to the long list of things I want to accomplish before the year ends. I have so many goals, it’s honestly overwhelming. There is a constantly need to remind myself to focus on the one thing. I took time this morning to write my goals for the next weeks, before July ends. Before July ends, I need to finish two books, write a blog post M-F, take an online course, and strategize for our current fiscal year at work.

Update on our Health:

This week, I also have a call with a nutritionist, which I am SO excited about!!! This is long overdue for my health. I am not struggling with anything in particular, I just want to know if there’s anything else I can do to optimize my health, so I can continue to reach for my highest potential. I feel like there is so much more I can do and I want to find out if she can help. I’ll keep you updated on this journey, if it’s something you’re interested in learning about.

Last but not least, I want to share something I’ve already shared with some of you…I am officially a survivor of Covid. (Here’s to hoping I don’t get it again, if that’s possible.) My body fought it off pretty well, my main symptom was loss of smell and taste. However, I still experienced allergy-like symptoms, lightheadedness, dizziness, headaches, and extreme exhaustion. I am so happy and relieved it’s all over with. (My senses haven’t fully returned…apparently this will take time.) Not once did I have fever, chest pain, or any of the “scary” symptoms others are experiencing. So don’t be fooled into thinking a fever is required. In fact, not once did my body temperature rise to 99 degrees. That is a fact because I take my basal body temperature every morning.

I am sharing this information to give you a different perspective from someone who experienced less severe symptoms. Oh, want to know another kicker? Jose never got it from me. This remains a mystery.

Having said that, I am grateful my body recovered and is free of the virus. You can bet I feel a bit more confident venturing out into the world because now I know I have the antibodies. I am praying so hard for a vaccine. I know we are all anxious for a solution.

Anyway, I hope you have a productive week ahead. Like I said, I am excited to share different messages about life this week. These messages will serve as reminders for myself too.

  1. Oh my gosh, so much going on. So sorry to hear you had covid, but happy to hear that you recovered. I never got tested but I swear I had it and my husband never showed symptoms. So crazy! Glad you are feeling better.
