Yesterday marked a very special milestone: the 9-year Mrs Profresh anniversary. Eeekkk!!! I still can’t believe it’s been nearly a decade since I hit publish on my very first post. This space has grown with me through so many seasons of life, and today felt like the perfect moment to share a few blog anniversary reflections – where we’ve been, what I’ve learned, and where we’re headed.

How It Started
This blog started with a burning desire to share my wardrobe creativity with the corporate girly. The corporate wardrobe felt so dull to me whenever I embarked on my first career shortly after college. And as a fashion merch major – the gal who graduated from the University of North Texas, which is known for being a creative hub – I suddenly found myself walking the halls of a large oil and gas corporation. To put it lightly, it was… uninspiring. (Okay, okay, exaggerating a bit, but you get the point.)
And so, the blogger dream began.
The Journey
Fast-forward to 2025, reflecting back on the last nine years, I can’t help but think:
- “Oh wow, I still remember this shoot!”
- “Oh wow, this photo made it on Target’s digital ad and newsletter!!!”
- “Ah yes, the famous photo that had everyone debating whether it was pistachios or small taquitos, LOL!” (Spoiler alert: it was tulips, thanks Target!)
There was also the time I was featured in a piece by Voyage. I still remember thinking how incredible that was. They still reach out every now and then for a follow-up, but eh, not quite ready to do that piece yet.
It all started as a dream, and now here I am, nine years later, doing what I love full-time. Just a girl and a DSLR camera – and of course, a loving and supportive husband. I truly couldn’t have done it without him. For the last nine years, he has been my built-in photographer and videographer (aka the guy behind almost every photo and video you see here). Just two kids who TRULY had NO business using a DSLR, haha! Still, to this day, we don’t know how to use the darn thing. We just wing it. The good thing now is that iPhones are incredibly advanced, so we rarely pull out the DSLR anymore (thanks, Apple!).

Blog Anniversary Reflections: Lessons Learned
Nine years of blogging will teach you a thing or two. Here are a few truths I’ve picked up along the way:
- Consistency matters, but so does intention. Posting just to post has never been my thing; I’d rather share something that feels meaningful.
- It’s okay to evolve. Your interests, your style, and your vision are allowed to grow and change.
- The internet moves fast, but the best part of having your own blog is that you control the pace, the voice, and the story.
(If you want a peek at how far things have come, check out one of my favorite early food posts, Easy Beef Empanada Recipe, it’s still a go-to in my kitchen!)

Looking Ahead to Year Ten
So what’s next for Mrs Profresh? I’ll be honest, I’ve been dreaming bigger lately. This blog has always been the heart of my brand, but as we move closer to year ten (!!!), I’m thinking about how to expand. More curated outfit ideas, more homemade recipes, more travel guides (because I know you appreciate those)… and who knows, maybe even a rebrand on the horizon 😉
But one thing is for sure: this space isn’t going anywhere. It will always be my home base, the hub where everything comes together.

Thank You for 9 Years
What a huge blessing it is to do what I love. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for this platform, for this community, and for all the lessons along the way. Every click, every comment, every DM has shaped this journey more than you know. Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been following since 2016 or just found me yesterday.
If we’re not already connected on Instagram, come say hi @mrsprofresh – that’s where I share day-to-day updates and behind-the-scenes fun. Celebrating the Mrs Profresh anniversary wouldn’t feel complete without saying how grateful I am for this community.
Here’s to the past 9 years, and here’s to what’s coming next.
Cheers to year 10 – I have a feeling it’s going to be a big one.
