My Q&A with Voyage Houston

If you would have told me I would eventually leave my corporate America job to go on a journey of self-discovery, I would have probably believed you because that sounds very much like me. However, if you would have told me the number of things I would discover during this journey I would have had a hard time believing you.

This my friend, is called doubt. I doubted myself for the longest time. It is wild to think what doubt can do to us. Doubt is detrimental to our destiny. It gets in the way of living our best life. It is the enemy of overcoming fear. It will get in the way of reaching our highest potential. But when we finally have the courage to put all fears aside, go full force, and work hard towards our dreams, the reward is priceless. I know this because I’ve gone through it recently.

I never considered the pros and cons that came with blogging. All I knew was that I loved it so much and needed to do it consistently. If you’ve been a supporter from the very beginning, you know 2019 was the year to do just that. Nothing was going to get in the way. I guess you can say I was vocal about my goals for this year because right before our Christmas trip to NYC, my husband surprised me with a special gift. (We had agreed to no Christmas gifts.) Anyway, I nearly cried from the happiness when I opened the box – it was the DSLR camera I wished for. This was huge for me because it meant he was finally 100% on board and would continue supporting my blog. That being said, I stayed true to my word and blogged at least once per week this year.

In mid-September, in the middle of our big moving day, I received a surprising email from an editor at Voyage Houston. She explained to me the editorial team was in the middle of rewriting a series and were interviewing Houston’s most inspiring women. Needless to say, I was humbled to learn they viewed me as inspiring, and of course, accepted the interview. To read the full interview, click here. This interview gave me the opportunity to share my story and the reasons why I started a blog in the first place.

Had I continued to doubt my capabilities, I would’ve never discovered my potential in the blogging industry. I’ve made some pretty awesome strides this year that I would’ve never considered. I know I am not perfect (and have a lot to improve on) but I will continue to work on my shortfalls and giving you my best. Thank you for following this journey. It has been a true pleasure serving you and getting to know you on a deeper level. This blog wouldn’t be a blog without a reader so thank you, thank you, thank you. My heart is overflowing with thankfulness…you have no idea.

Well, that’s a wrap for tonight. I hope you have time to read the interview. I think you’ll learn a lot more about me, especially if you’re a new reader. I still cannot believe I was given the opportunity. Ahhh, just truly grateful for everything in my life. So blessed for this platform, so blessed for you. You can bet I am excited to finish this year strong with plenty of gift guides, holiday recipes, holiday decorating, and holiday outfits! If you have any questions, comments, etc., as always, never hesitate to send a message. I always love hearing from you.
