Find your style

One of the reasons I started my blog was because I wanted to inspire other girls (or women) with ideas on how to dress up the everyday look. I think there is a misconception that you have to be a certain type of person, a certain size, look a certain way, or act a certain way, make a specific salary, work at a specific place…

…the list goes on and on, to find a style that speaks to your soul. Everyone has the capability of finding their own style and owning it. Maybe yours doesn’t align with mine and that’s okay. Maybe yours doesn’t align with your sister or mother…that’s okay too. Maybe your significant other just doesn’t get it…and trust me…that’s totally okay. It all begins with self-confidence. It begins with taking charge of our own lives. It is an ongoing process of self-discovery and exploration. It’s a trial and error process. It’s about knowing yourself and being comfortable in your own skin. In the end, it’s about self-love. You get the point, sister. I know it’s easier said than done but never impossible.

It was on my heart to share these words with you because the outfit I am wearing probably looks “expensive” to some people but it actually wasn’t. (Don’t get me wrong, if my budget allowed for higher-end clothes, I’d probably spoil myself every now and then but that’s simply not the case at this moment.) Clothes doesn’t have to be high-end to LOOK or FEEL good. Remember, it begins with self-love. So if you’re the type of person that blames the clothes on your back for not feeling like yourself, I think there’s more beneath the surface. If this is you, read closely, you are beautiful just the way you are. If you are not happy with something, change it. Go after it. Full force. Don’t stop.

If this isn’t you, and you are comfortable in your own skin, awesome. Keep exploring, keep trying new things, keep evolving, share your finds, encourage your friends to try a new trend, etc., etc. It’s amazing what an outfit can do to turn around your entire day, right?!? Life is way too short to not have fun in the process.

It has been a humbling experience this year to get to know you on a deeper level. I am truly humbled when you come to me for fashion or life advice. I certainly don’t want to come across like I know it all because I don’t. The space I am constantly striving to create is openness, honesty, and vulnerability, so thank you for taking part in this community.

Also, if you need a new perspective, I HIGHLY encourage you to read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. (You can purchase the book here.) This book changed my life for the best. Every single thing I learned from this book is applied to my life on a daily basis. I read it in college in 2011, bought it for my husband as a birthday gift in 2012, and here we are, still applying the principles learnt throughout the book. Our lives revolve around it. You’ll hear me talk about this book every now and then because that’s where everything took root.

I wish you a happy, productive, and reflective day. Thank you for allowing me to share this passion of mine with you. Thank you for following my blogging journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Ps. This cold brew PSL is delishhhhh.
