This two-piece set easily became my favorite go-to night out outfit during our recent trip to Mexico City. (Honestly, if I’d had more nights there, I would’ve worn it again – and again.) And if there’s one thing I do so effortlessly, it’s keep favorite staples for years.
I wore this set to dinner at Azul Histórico, a short walk from our hotel (one of my favorite spots from our trip – full food guide here). We also snuck in a quick photoshoot as the sunset hour crept in – the cityscape made for the most perfect backdrop.

The Deets
This set is by AFRM. The color is listed as “White Pepper” on the website, but let’s be real, it’s caramel. Not only ideal for summer nights, but I’m already thinking ahead to date nights this fall.
I loved the fit and construction of both pieces! I am a sucker for a structured shoulder moment, and this blazer delivers. The set is also genuinely comfortable, which matters more than people give it credit for on a night out. The shorts are short in length, but in my humble opinion, cut smart – aka nothing was on display.

Why It’s a Forever Piece
This isn’t a one-night-only outfit, and that is exactly why I love it. The versatility of both pieces is what sold me – I’m always looking for ways to cross-style staples with the rest of my wardrobe, and this set gives me creative options. I can already picture the blazer styled with denim or white jeans with a pair of pointy nude heels. And the shorts? Those are pairing with any blouse I own, whether it’s another night out in the city or a brunch date with the hubby.
The color neutrality is really what gives me the flexibility to get creative.
How I Styled This Night Out Outfit

I kept the accessories simple: a small handbag and dark brown sandal heels, letting the set do most of the talking.
Sizing & Fit
This one runs true to size. I’m wearing a size 26 in the shorts and small in the blazer.
Final Thoughts
That’s a wrap on this adorable set! Hope you love as much as I do. I can already tell this is going to be my go-to night out outfit for a long time – looking forward to wearing it again on our next trip to Guadalajara.
