There’s a little flower stand attached to a café near me that I’ve walked past a few times and never actually stopped at until this week. I ordered an iced oat milk latte and enjoyed the beautiful patio. Polka dots, flower bouquets, and a slow morning? I don’t make the rules, I just follow them.
This is a piece that is timeless and classic. If you’ve been on the fence about a polka dot moment this season, this is me telling you: get on the other side of that fence.
The Dress
I spotted this beauty on my last run at the Houston Galleria. I love the fitted bodice, adjustable straps, and flared skirt with gathered seams at the hip for volume. It’s also 100% cotton, which is perfect for warm weather. The polka dot print is classic enough to work anywhere (future Europe packing list, I see you). Just budget a few minutes with an iron once it’s out of a suitcase; it wrinkles the way lightweight cotton does.
On me, the length lands right around the ankle, which reads more “easy coffee run” than “prom”, even though H&M’s own product name calls it a midi. True to size, but if you’re between sizes I’d size up slightly – it runs a touch snug through the ribcage.

Beyond the Coffee Run: Proof This Isn’t a One-Day Dress
I’ve already reached for this dress for two different occasions – date night and my little cousin’s birthday party. Same flats, simple gold jewelry, done in two minutes. No reinventing it for the occasion, because it didn’t need it. That’s the actual test of a good dress.
