Finally – a normal weekend in Houston. Happy to have set this weekend for myself. No plans, no agenda. The house is clean, laundry is folded, and got some work done.
The hubby and I are unwinding this evening with our current favorite winter drink – mulled apple cider with cinnamon. Thanks to the cold front, it’s the perfect night for this type of drink. Speaking of cold fronts, what a crazy night on Friday night! It was the night of the recent winter storm that took everyone in Texas by surprise. We literally experienced four seasons in less than 24 hours. All of my friends and family in North Texas were pretty darn excited about those snow flurries too – lol! I know our friends in the North are used to snow, but hey, give us a break. Us Southerners appreciate the small winter victories.
We stumbled upon this apple cider drink during one of our excursions to Highland Village, which is where all of my favorite stores are located ever since becoming a homeowner. Williams Sonoma made this drink available for guests on the day we visited. (They might have served it throughout the entire holiday season.) We liked so much I went back for the ingredients.
It’s fairly simple to make. For four servings, all you’ll need is:
- 1 cup of Five Apple Cider Concentrate
- 3 cups of water
- 4 small cinnamon sticks
- Mulling Spices in a small tea infuser
In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider concentrate and water.
Add mulling spices to tea infuser and hook it to the sauce pan.
Add cinnamon sticks to mugs, and once the apple cider simmers, remove the tea infuser and serve warm. Enjoy!
