My last post covered wedding dress shopping so I thought it would only be appropriate to share a little shoe advice as well. I am not the expert (I’ve only bought wedding shoes once) but perhaps this post will help a future bride.
I always knew I wanted to wear a pair of “pretty” shoes on the big day. If you have read previous posts, you probably know that I love and seek comfort when it comes to shopping for shoes. However, that rule was tossed out the window for my wedding shoes.
I ended up going with a pair of Badgley Mischka satin rhinestone embellished back detail peep-toe platform pump – woah, I am out of breath! My try-on session lasted about five minutes and I swore they were comfortable. But we all know you need more than five minutes to determine true comfort levels. When it came to breaking them in at home, they didn’t feel too comfy. But remember…I was fine with that because they were beautiful. And beauty hurts sometimes.
Two things I want you to take away from reading this:
- Break into your wedding shoes – without getting them dirty, of course!
- I broke mine in by walking on clean carpet
- Buy a second (or third) pair of shoes to serve as backup
- Your feet will thank you the next day

As you can imagine, I wore the Badgley’s for as long as I could then switched to a different pair later that night.
I am a little curious…what do brides look for in a pair of wedding shoes? Is it aesthetics like myself? Is it comfort? Do you even care? Is your dress too long to care? We are all different people so I want to assume we all have different expectations or ideals. Anyway, enough overthinking! If you are a bride-to-be though, let me know what’s driving your dress and shoe shopping! I’d love to hear more!
If you’ve read this far…thank you! You’re the bomb.
Wishing you a lovely rest of the week.
