Happy July & A Warm Welcome to New Readers!

We are officially halfway through the year – like WUUUT?!? As much as I enjoy summertime, I am actually ready to fast forward to the fall season simply because I am not traveling anywhere, lol! (At this point, I have no trips planned for this month.) And since I have an outdoor space to enjoy, I am ready to sit on my rooftop patio to enjoy the cool breeze with a homemade pumpkin spice latte in hand. (Ugh, I know, so basic.)

Anyway, I am looking forward to making this month a productive one – per usual. If you are new to the blog, welcome. Here’s a virtual hug from me to you! At the beginning of every month, I like to give new readers shoutouts. 😉 And normally, I keep it short and simple, but this month, I want to give you an in-depth introduction about myself. I want you to know the meaning behind my blog and why I decided to create this online escape.

About Me:

I’ve been living in Houston for almost seven years so you’ll definitely see a lot of Houston recommendations and suggestions. I love all things that have to do with dressing up, whether it is for a special event, a family reunion, or as of lately, heading to the grocery store. Heck, who am I kidding? I dress up with nowhere to go nowadays. Typically, I love to travel, however, that is on pause for the moment. I love to cook a good meal – cooking is like therapy to me. I seek adventure – literally itch for it all the time. As much as I love routine, I like to break from it every once in a while.

I am a family girl – but sadly no immediate family in Houston 🙁 I love the company I work for. I work for a technology manufacturer, and couldn’t be happier working for an innovative company that is changing lives for the better. My husband is my best friend and love to do life with him, obviously (since I am married to the man, haha). We have been married for three years this month! (Time flies!!!) We purchased our first home last year and find ourselves working on it every weekend.

You can say organizing is a favorite 2020 hobby. I love to read personal development books and strongly believe in the Law of Attraction. I enjoy running and going to the gym, however, haven’t done yoga in a while but I love going to hot yoga classes. Ya girl loves vino. I am fluent in Spanish and speak a little bit of Portuguese. I am competitive; love to win. So, I am pretty good at flip cup. Not a big fan of sports buuuuut I’ll definitely watch a game AND get into it. I love strawberry anything. I love coffee dates. My love language is quality time. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love to entertain and host my loved ones. Love ALL kinds of music and I strive to be positive in every situation.

I am an emotional human being – any sad or happy video will make me cry. My siblings are my best friends. My soul sister lives in NYC. And my girl cousins are like my sisters. Laughing is my favorite thing to do and believe it’s the best medicine in the world. I seek to become the best version of myself. Life is too short so I am on the pursuit of creating an extraordinary life, on my terms. I don’t believe in settling. I believe in standards and core values. And God is the foundation of it all.

I’ve been blogging consistently for the last two and a half years. (More about how I got started here.) I created this platform to share more than just my daily outfits. I wanted to create a space for creativity, inspiration, and motivation. The two questions I often ask myself as I craft each blog post are: #1 Am I writing from my heart? and #2 How is this providing value to the reader? My intention is to stay true to myself, and at the same time, provide helpful information. Whether that means sharing cute outfits to inspire your wardrobe, or sharing ingredients and steps on how to make my latest creation in the kitchen, or sharing a podcast episode that broadened my perspective, my ultimate goal is to continue building a community of supportive, strong, independent, and badass women.

The joy I get from connecting with like-minded girls is incredible. I love community. I think this passion comes from moving to an unfamiliar city without knowing a single soul. Not to mention, adulthood can get lonely. (Yes, even with a husband. He’s not a girl so some things remain unrelatable.) I am pretty transparent when it comes to things that I know will empower and help another person. This could be anything from budgeting, saving, productivity, planning, organizing, cooking, etc.

My intention is to always share from a place of authenticity. As much as I strive for perfection, I know I am far from it. I don’t think it’s necessary to point out that no one is perfect. However, I do think it’s so easy to believe someone’s life is perfect based on their social media highlight reel. But that’s what I want to remind you of right this second – social media is a highlight reel. Just because you see bloggers (or influencers) share what appears to be their best life, it doesn’t mean struggle doesn’t exist.

Everyone is fighting a battle. This is why it’s important for me to share the hard stuff too. You will find a wide range of topics on the blog. I like to raise awareness about various issues I am passionate about. I will occasionally share how I am taking action as well. The point is, please don’t get caught up in the comparison game. I never want to make anyone feel less than…

Last but not least, as I continue this blogging journey, I want you to know I do not take your trust for granted. If you have been reading the blog for the last two and a half years, you probably know I don’t post just to post. Meaning, if I don’t have anything to say, I don’t feel obligated to publish anything. In other words, I don’t care about the algorithm. (I hear the Instagram algorithm punishes you if you don’t post.) If you like what I share, my best guess is you’ll visit my site.

I don’t care to share affiliate links on every single blog post either. (Affiliate links is one way bloggers make money.) If I do share affiliate links, I am familiar with the retailer and/or product. I do not share anything I don’t believe in. If you love what I share, and purchase through my link, thank you! It means a lot. However, if you don’t, that’s okay too.

Final Thoughts:

Anyway, I hope this blog post gives you an idea of who I am and the purpose behind publishing blog posts. I love to connect with my readers so please don’t be shy on saying hi or asking a question. I received awesome insight earlier this week on blog post ideas so THANK YOU! July is known as “love month” on the blog, which means I share topics related to wedding planning, marriage, and relationships. However, as you know, this year is quite different from previous years so I want to consider the current environment I am facing. I couldn’t help but to come up with blog topics revolving the home so you can expect to see more of the home in the coming days. I did come up a few things related to marriage and weddings…but that will be later this month.

Here’s to a month of productivity, positivity, and possibilities! I wish you nothing but success as you work on building a better you, a better life. Let’s create the change we wish to see in this insane yet beautiful world.

Love you guys,
